BSL Level 3

Who's it for?

This qualification caters for the learning needs of those who already have competence in BSL at Level 2. Successful learners must be able to demonstrate competence at Level 3 of the UK Occupational Language Standards (Instructus 2012). This means that the learner will be able to understand and use varied BSL in a range of work and social situations.
The learner will develop an advanced knowledge of the structure and function of British Sign Language and an understanding of the Deaf Community and Deaf Culture.

It is a taught course, with lots of practical, hands on skills in both receptive an productive BSL.  It will include theory knowledge about the language itself and deaf culture as a whole.  Throughout the course there will be homework and you will be expected to practice your conversational skills in your own time.  You will need tohave at least an 80% attendance to be submitted for the assessments.
